Many congratulations to Shirley-Anne on winning the Dunfermline Constituency seat in the Holyrood election with a majority of 4,558 votes with a turnout of 57%.   The campaign team worked extremely hard and we thank all of you who voted for Shirley-Anne.

Shirley-Anne is the Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People.  She will serve as the first dedicated Social Security Secretary, working to deliver a system with dignity and respect at its heart. Shirley-Anne will also ensure that the voice and priorities of Scotland’s older people are represented at the highest level of government.

Shirley-Anne is an experienced Holyrood parliamentarian having been an MSP from 2007 to 2011 and a Parliamentary Aide to John Swinney.   She is a proven leader in the Yes movement and the SNP.   She was the Director of Communications in the Yes movement responsible for the grass roots campaign and Deputy Chief Executive of the SNP overseeing major campaign projects and managing campaign staff.   She also worked closely with First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon during the Westminster campaign.
